Aqueity, an IT managed-services provider, seeks to hire an Infrastructure Engineer responsible for monitoring and maintaining our clients’ IT environments through our remote monitoring and management system, along with collaborating on complex projects. The role of Infrastructure Engineer at Aqueity is a broad role that allows the wearing of different hats and exposure to several disciplines of IT – patching, backups, and security, to name a few. The ideal candidate will be a system administrator with both solid skills in networking and a general understanding of Microsoft core technologies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance and capacity of computer systems for environmental alerts or malfunctions, then perform root cause analysis to discover the cause
  • Centrally-manage patching of our clients’ systems, including the staggered patching of dev/test and production systems
  • Ensure full coverage of our clients’ systems with our chosen anti-virus and other security products
  • Monitor data backups for both workstation and servers, ensuring compliance with RPO goals, remediating where possible and escalating when necessary
  • Design, configure, test and deploy new monitoring and monitoring systems
  • Review and remediate anti-virus detections and apply web filtering exclusions
  • Create scripts and automation through our remote management tools to increase productivity and decrease response time to environmental alerts
  • Serve as an escalation point for service requests from the help desk, providing guidance to technicians for next steps and possible root causes
  • Discover opportunities to enhance and optimize client environments
  • Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Associates degree in a technology-related field from an accredited college or university; 2+ years of experience as a system administrator in a Windows environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant certifications preferred
  • Prior experience with ConnectWise PSA and/or Kaseya RMM a plus
  • Prior experience in the managed services industry a plus

Language Skills & Reasoning Ability

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization, processes and procedures is sometimes limited. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to type 40 words per minute and speak English fluently.
